Avebury Henge, Wiltshire England

I am now in a B&B near Salisbury, Wiltshire, England and have a few days to update my blog before taking the ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo, France and the Train down to Vannes near Carnac.

On my search to discover the nature of the Neolithic people who erected the stone monuments all over Europe, I have visited Newgrange in Ireland and Stonehenge and Avebury in the county Wiltshire in England. I have made some astonishing discoveries and am getting a clearer picture of who these mysterious people were and what they used these particular sites for.

Unfortunately, like the astonishing sites themselves, the history has been buried deep beneath multilayers of history that came after them—all the lesser cultures of domination, hierarchy, oppression and war that anihilated the great, advanced, peaceful, equalitarian culture that occupied all of Europe before 1760 BCE and built these impressive sites. The history of these incredible sites is thus confused with the Indo-European people who invaded the area some 4000 years ago—such as the Bronze Age Beaker culture, Celts/Druids, Romans and all the other Medieval savages who brought in their Gods of War and culture of destruction. Of course there was a time period when these lesser cultures occupied and used these sites for their own purposes, but they were not responsible for designing them or building them, nor were their purposes the original reason that these sites were built. Indeed, they did not have the intelligence to do so.

I just want to say that visiting the sites has been very rewarding and they seem to give up their secrets rather readily. Indeed, I have resurrected a little lady from her resting place in the interpretive center at Newgrange in Ireland. It is most unusual to find intact skeletons of the Neolithic period as the people usually cremated their dead, but for some reason, this little lady was not cremated. She is about 4 foot 10 inches tall, has osteoporosis, arthritis and suffered from iron deficiency. She also has a fracture of her right elbow. I had a very warm feeling towards her when I viewed her and knew instantly that she was the grandmother of my protagonist. I named her Nama and she has come to life so vividly for me. I feel like I knew her all my life.

The other character who came to life for me was resurrected from the skeletal remains of a young man in the interpretive center at Stonehenge. In the reconstructed face, I saw the personality and character of another important character in my book, Judoc, the protagonist’s mate. I could see his gentle compassionate nature that, along with the strength and superb intelligence brought the character to life in my mind. I will attempt to put pictures that I took of these two individuals on this site. (Still getting used to the site)

I have much to write about these amazing places and the people who built and used them, but I will close for now and try upload some pictures.
